Art Cologne

Impressions from this year’s art fair – the oldest fair for contemporary art

The overall impressions of the represented art works can be summed up:

  1. The dimensions of the works were much smaller than last year.
  2. Much more female artists were shown upstairs and downstairs.
  3. It seemed that less new artists have been represented – most of the names were quite known.
  4. The visitors were mainly German speaking – nearly no overseas public.

The image above shows Prof. Dr. Nadine Oberste-Hetbleck at her booth of ZADIK on the right (and me on the left). Oberste-Hetbleck is the very engaged director of the centre of art market studies in Cologne, Germany.

The images below shows Aeneas Bastian from Bastian Gallery, Berlin (with me), Max Liebermann painting at Ludorff Gallery and Zuzanna Czebatul’s sculpture at Dittrich & Schlechtriem Gallery, Düsseldorf.
